Who We Are

We are Ascencia Service Awareness Program. We identify us as part of Ascencia, a homeless services agency and emergency shelter in Glendale, and their mission of "Lifting people out of homelessness one person, one family at a time." Our team values passion, collaboration, integrity, respect, consistency, and persistency in raising awareness of homelessness.

Our History

Ascencia Service Awareness Program (ASAP) is Herbert Hoover High School's club formed in 2018 as a service organization dedicated to Ascencia in serving the homeless and Ascencia community in the Glendale Area.

In May of 2019, ASAP Club was recognized by the California Legislature Assemblymember Laura Friedman of the 43rd Assembly District as Junior Volunteer of the Year for ASAP club's countless "hours of selfless and outstanding service to Ascencia and our community... by hosting drives and collecting donations for hygiene supplies and bagged lunches." Every holiday season, our club raises about $1000-2000 for Ascencia's homeless services, warm dinners, and hygiene supplies.
